Nepal Update: Tent Shelters Remain One Year Later

One year after the earthquake, it is shocking to see people still living under the shelter of tents… but this way of life exists in most of the hardest earthquake hit areas.  One organization estimates that approximately 26,000 people still live in tent camps, under tarps, or makeshift corrugated metal shelters.  The Nepal government is slow to distribute aid as many are still in need of basic necessities such as food and blankets.  These are the poorest people in the region and they are currently living in fear of the upcoming monsoon season.
